On a hot and sticky Saturday — though no rain to speak of, luckily — a legion of punk bands old and new rolled into the Central Florida Fairgrounds for Punk in the Park. The lineup was a who's who of legends like TSOL, Dwarves and Black Flag, bolstered by younger ragers like The Bronx and 430 Steps, and Alkaline Trio headlining the day. Our man on the scene, Jim Leatherman, named The Bronx, DKs and The Vandals as personal highlights — also mentioning that punk parents bringing their kids to the big gig was a heartening sight. Wholesome!
