All the new chain restaurants calling Orlando home in 2024

While Orlando's homegrown eateries get most of the spotlight, the city remains a hotspot for chains both big and small.

Just this year, new fast-food and sit-down dining chains have graced Central Florida foodies' palates and even more are on their way. Barbecue, teppanyaki, drive-thru coffee, burgers and poke are just some of the newest additions to our culinary lineup.

Here are all the chains that have made Orlando home so far in 2024, and all the ones that have promised to make their way here before the year ends.

Poke Burri
12615 W. Colonial Drive, Winter Garden
Dual concept Poke Burri and Lifting Noodles, an Atlanta-born Japanese restaurant, has opened in Orlando. The menu features customizable sushi in unconventional forms — think sushi pizza, sushi burritos, sushi donuts and sushi corn dogs. (As well as poke bowls, for the less adventurous among us.) The Lifting Noodles side of the equation features plenty of specialty and build-your-own ramen options. This location also has a full bar and offers various teas and beverages.

Loved by West Coast pop culture icons and fast foodies alike, Los Angeles-based eatery Fatburger made its Orlando debut earlier this year. Predominantly located on the West Coast, Fatburger is known for its classic burgers, chili cheese dogs and loving lyrical mentions from icons like Ice Cube, Notorious B.I.G. and the Beastie Boys.

9101 International Drive, Orlando
Taffer’s Tavern, a full-service restaurant and bar concept by Bar Rescue host Jon Taffer, is coming to Orlando’s International Drive this winter. The new outpost, which will be the chain’s very first Florida location, will offer signature drinks, comfort food and tavern classics, and an "inviting and warm ambience."

City Barbeque

Opened this summer for the first time in Florida, City Barbeque specializes in classics like pulled pork sandwiches, beef brisket, ribs and even fried pickles. The chain's claim to fame is that it smokes everything it serves itself, with the help of on-site smokers that run 24 hours a day at each location.

Jeremiah's Italian Ice will soon scoop its way the Lake Eola area with a new outpost on its way soon, set to take the former space of Pop Parlour. Cold treats like Italian ice, "jelati" and soft ice cream (plus all the indulgent toppings) will be on standby for those strolls through downtown.

An Orlando outpost of Hong Kong-based dessert chain Hui Lau Shan is expected to open later this fall. The shop, with locations all over the world, specializes in all things mango and all things sweet.

The Charleston-based pickleball "eatertainment" venue Crush Yard will open toward the end of the year near Disney. In addition to indoor pickleball courts, the boob-tube-heavy space will house a modern restaurant plating "elevated comfort food" and will offer 36 beers on tap as well as wine and cocktails.

Founded in 1926, Rainbow Cone specializes in their "world-famous" five-flavor "Rainbow Cone," which features orange sherbet, pistachio, Palmer House (vanilla with cherries and walnuts), strawberry and chocolate flavors "sliced" on top of each other. The menu also boasts a variety of sundaes, cakes, doughnuts and milkshakes. The company did not give any specifics on exactly where or when the new Florida locations will debut.

This “zero human interaction” automat-style restaurant announced its upcoming Orlando location back in fall 2021 and, although it hasn’t released an official opening date yet, we’re hanging onto that “coming soon” plastered on its site. Brooklyn Dumpling Shop offers 32 varieties of dumplings, including traditional and not-so-traditional dumplings, like vegan cheeseburger, peanut butter and jelly, and cheese pizza.

This “zero human interaction” automat-style restaurant announced its upcoming Orlando location back in fall 2021 and, although it hasn’t released an official opening date yet, we’re hanging onto that “coming soon” plastered on its site. Brooklyn Dumpling Shop offers 32 varieties of dumplings, including traditional and not-so-traditional dumplings, like vegan cheeseburger, peanut butter and jelly, and cheese pizza.
