Palm Beach Meats, Florida's top purveyor of Japanese wagyu, will open a second location, taking over the old Hungry Pants space at 3421 S. Orange Ave. in SoDo. Owners Eric San Pedro and wife Meghan are the only ones in the country authorized by the Kobe Association to provide the prized wagyu as a retailer, restaurant and wholesaler. Like the Palm Beach original, the Orlando outpost will sell Japanese beef and offer a food menu with some "twists." Look for it to open later this year ...

The Parkview in Winter Park has closed. Moving into the space will be a revived version of The Imperial Winter Park, John Washburn's bar and lounge that stood for five years at 170 E. Morse Blvd. before closing last October. Washburn, along with business partner Drew Weisner, who also served as the executive chef of Dexter's Thornton Park, will develop the menu once a hood system is installed in the space. Washburn says he'd like to open in time for Winter Park's Autumn Art Festival ...
