Though the national and international groups often steal the spotlight, those performers have little on the Orlando ones for sheer entertainment value. Hey, nothing beats seeing to what depths of depravity and lunacy your Orlando friends will stoop. And from newbies to veterans, there are plenty of local performers this year to fill your Fringe calendar.

Based on what I saw at the local preview event, which I attended on April 14, I’m especially looking forward to Tappin’ and Yappin’; The Greatest Musical Never Written by Two Nobodies; Bless Me, Father, For I Have Danced! (with a cast of more than 20); and PB&J Theatre Factory’s Smooch, all PG-rated.

Among the R-rated offerings, the most promising entries may be Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson; VarieTEASE; the brilliantly blasphemous FrankenChrist: The Musical!; Escape From Baldwin Park; and Reincarnation Soup, a sweet breath of maturity in a sea of silliness.
