Knife, fork, plate ... bo-ring. One of the many things kids know best is that nibbling your nourishment off a stick adds an alluring element of “game” to the everyday “meal.” But once they’ve grown into adults who no longer indulge in corn dogs and popsicles on the regular, they forget. (Except on Pinterest, where “food on a stick” seems to be second only to “miniature food” in number of boards.) So we’ve collected a quiverful of our favorite skewered treats from around town – go on, poke a hole in your dull dinner. You can thank us after you lick that steak juice off your elbow.

Savory favorites:

Bloodhound Brew
5801 Conroy Road, 407-578-5711,
bloodhoundbrew.com
As part of their “street food” offerings, BB’s fried chicken & biscuits on a stick are good cause to indulge, especially when dipped in the white pepper country gravy.

Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi
7972 Via Dellagio Way, 407-370-3359,
dragonflyorlando.com
The grill at Dragonfly churns out fine smoked Bincho-tan delicacies, none better than skewers of grilled gyutan (beef tongue), tontoro (pork cheek), Wagyu tenderloin and shishito peppers.

Fantasy Fare Food Truck
Downtown Disney, 407-939-5277,
disneyparks.disney.go.com
Look for the bright-red Fantasy Fare truck at Downtown Disney – and when you find it, grab a hand-dipped corn dog, fried to golden-brown perfection. Your inner child will thank you, even if your cardiologist frowns.

Flame Kabob
7536 Dr. Phillips Blvd., 407-966-2236,
kaboborlando.com
The perfectly charred cylinders of kafta kebab (seasoned ground beef and lamb) at Flame Kabob make for a superlative stick of mince. If red meat ain’t your thing, give their shish tawook (chicken) a twirl.

Fogo de Chão
8282 International Drive, 407-370-0711,
fogodechao.com
Prior to your feast of traditional Brazilian churrasco, seasoned and sliced to order off waiter-borne swords at this Brazilian house of meat, head to the bar and whet your appetite with grilled spiced shrimp and beef tenderloin skewers.

Fresh to Order
851 N. Alafaya Trail, 407-203-2060,
freshtoorder.com
What makes F2O’s lightly fried chicken skewers unique is the almond-rosemary crust. What makes F2O’s lightly fried chicken skewers addictive is the almond-rosemary crust.

Fulton’s Crab House
1670 Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista,
407-934-2628, fultonscrabhouse.com
Grab a basket of lobster-tail “corn dogs” (get salsa verde and sweet chili aioli on the side), then proceed roaming the grounds of Downtown Disney as wide-eyed tourists gawk enviously.
