Tip Jar: Greg Richie takes over CityFish

Plus: Barley & Vine Biergarten opens, Kouzzina closes, Winter Park jinx spot unjinxed?

Greg Richie (Roy’s, Emeril’s Tchoup Chop) is now helming the kitchen at CityFish. The menu has been revamped for the better, with a more discerning focus on ingredients and sourcing. The space itself will also undergo a makeover in the coming weeks.

Barley & Vine Biergarten has opened in the former (and expanded) El Coqui space at 2406 E. Washington St. in the Milk District. B&V features a 2,000-square-foot outdoor patio, not to mention 18 rotating beers on tap and 150 available by the bottle.

More beer news: Look for brews from Jacksonville’s Bold City Brewery at your local grocery and liquor stores as well as bars and restaurants. Brands include Killer Whale Cream Ale, Duke’s Cold Nose Brown Ale and Mad Manatee IPA.

The Crooked Spoon holds its April Wine Dinner April 16 at 6:30 p.m. The four-course meal features wines from Chateau Ste. Michelle; cost is $60 per person. Also April 16, more than 40 food proprietors showcase their offerings at the 29th annual Taste of Winter Park, 5-8 p.m. at the Winter Park Farmers Market. You’ll also have the opportunity to nibble on samples from the Coop (slated to open later this month) and meet three-time Cupcake Wars champion Hollis Wilder. Tickets are $40.

BRIEFLY

Celeb chef Cat Cora’s Kouzzina will close on Disney’s Boardwalk Sept. 30 … The 4Rivers Smokehouse empire has expanded, this time to the UCF corridor … Bryce Balluff (Fork in the Road food truck) opens Southern Moon Smokehouse & Brewery later this month in the former Holy Smoke BBQ space on Curry Ford Road … Look for yet another restaurant to open in the jinxed spot at the corner of Park Avenue and Canton Street. Tampa’s Soho Hospitality Management has an established pedigree on the Gulf Coast (Boca, Copperhead, Ciro’s) and plans a restaurant in the same vein inside the former Matilda’s/Circa/Galopin/etc. space.
