Local food news: Tony Adams' new pop-up restaurant, Dishcrawl, thank a Florida farmworker, Taste of Oviedo and more

Chef Tony Adams and Big Wheel Provisions will open Orlando's first multi-night pop-up restaurant March 19-23 at Urban ReThink. Kennebec (the name is a reference to the river in Adams' native Maine) will feature such locally sourced fare as braised Gulf octopus with Moroccan chickpea ragoût, crispy-skinned Titusville long-line bluefish and, oh my, head cheese from Pasture Prime Berkshire pork. Redlight Redlight will supply the craft brews. For reservations, visit kennebecrestaurant.com.

Orlando's first-ever Dishcrawl promises a "culinary social experience" like no other. Buy a $45 ticket, and 48 hours prior to the event, the secret meet-up location will be emailed to you. Starting at 7 p.m. on March 12, participants will taste their way through four downtown Orlando eateries. Clues to the identities of the restaurants will be tweeted @DishcrawlOrl. Visit dishcrawl.com/orlando for more.

If you've never thanked a farmworker, here's your chance. The Farmworker Association of Florida is hosting a "Giving Thanks to Farmworkers" Celebration and Fundraiser 6:30-8:30 p.m. March 7 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park. Whole Foods Market, along with local producers and retailers, will supply the food. Tickets are $25. Call 407-886-5151 for more.

When the 20th Annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival gets underway March 6, it'll mark the first time that guests will be able to partake in garden-inspired foods and beverages around the World Showcase Promenade: Smokehouse Barbecue and Brew at American Adventure, Primavera Kitchen at Italy showcase, Hanami at Japan showcase and eight others. Florida Fresh will represent the Sunshine State, and all sorts of libations will help slake the thirst of guests. Runs until May 19.

BRIEFLY:
The 19th annual Taste of Oviedo, a free event, happens March 9 at the Oviedo Mall … Jake's American Bar Beer Dinner, a four-course affair with craft-brew pairings, takes place March 15 at 7 p.m. at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort; tickets are $45 … Kings Bowl, the Boston-based dining/bowling/entertainment venue that pioneered "boutique bowling" a decade ago, is scheduled to open its first Florida location in April in the I-Drive Live project.
