Before scenes from A Clockwork Orange flash through your head, know that the Milk Bar is instead named for the neighborhood it’s in (the Milk District), but that doesn’t mean it’s not a horrorshow spot for hanging with your droogies.
Comprising little more than a sliver of storefront along the road, the Milk Bar makes use of utilitarian furniture and an intimate space to promote the feel of a neighborhood watering hole or a rowdy den, depending on the size of the crowd. Beer and wine prices are a deal, if not a steal, at this sister operation of the Social Chameleon, and daily specials are primed to make beer snobs clap for joy. The peckish can order food from the Chameleon to be delivered tableside, and though the wait time can vary, there’s plenty of distraction; piles of board games, video game consoles and local art exhibits (and beer, natch) will keep boredom at bay.
