Nosh Pit: Our favorite tastes around town
This week, Drunken Monkey's Mojo Jojo
Published: November 28, 2012
Mojo Jojo, $3.50, from Drunken Monkey Coffee Bar
You can keep your grande caramel macchiatos and your Coolattas and whatever other complicated corporate beverages you like to consume. For our money, there's nothing like a Mojo Jojo from Drunken Monkey. It's a simple drink – dark-roast coffee with condensed milk, cinnamon, nutmeg and a bit of cayenne pepper (don't let that scare you off – you'd never even notice it if we didn't tell you it was in there) – that tastes like a cross between a Thai iced coffee and a whole-milk latte. Served hot or iced, it's a drink for all seasons. But be forewarned: It's ridiculously addictive and that condensed milk will attach itself to your waistline, so don't let the Mojo Jojo become a monkey on your back.
