Roar 'n' Soar

“Buzz-cut Alabamians spewing colored smoke in their whiz-jets to the strains of ‘Rock You Like a Hurricane’? What kind of country-fried rube is still impressed by that?” Well, no one in Central Florida, Sideshow Bob, that’s for sure. That is, not unless those whiz-jets are actually vintage aircraft and paragliders. And someone would have to throw in mechanical marvels of land and sea as well. Throwback museum attraction Fantasy of Flight takes all this into consideration for their third installment of Roar n’ Soar, a weekend festival of classic vehicles, stunts and, of course, speed. Yes, this is another event that’s going to require something of a drive (which just means you get to see more cars!), but Orlando doesn’t have the space to contain all the action. Get hands-on time with giant-scale RC machines and learn more than you ever wanted to in the “Ask the Expert” presentations. Face it, the oil for this kind of crazy extravagance won’t be around much longer. Might as well catch the colored smoke while you can.
