N3rd Night
What started out as a simple, low-key night where people could play video games and hang out has blossomed into a monthly event with DJs, vendors and music for people who, as event founders Emily Fidler and Myk Freitag say, "don't usually go out." At this iteration of the monthly nerd showcase, local musician Marc With a C will perform along with DJ Spank and the nerdy set can play around with retro video games while drinking two-for-one beers and $3 wells. 9 pm Saturday; Bikkuri Lounge, 1919 E. Colonial Drive; $5; 407-894-4494; facebook.com/NerdNite.
Sept. 29-Nov. 3

After you've walked the trail, stick around and check out the Halloween festival, which features live music, mini golf and laser tag. 7:30 pm-11 pm on select dates, 7:30 pm-midnight Friday, Nov. 2-Saturday, Nov. 3; A Petrified Forest, 1360 State Road 436, Altamonte Springs; $15-$20; apetrifiedforest.com.

Zombietoberfest Sure, the Halloween season is upon us and everybody's got some kind of horrorshow going on to celebrate. But nobody does it quite like Zombietoberfest, when the undead invade the city's hippest haven, Audubon Park. There's a zombie walk, a king and queen zombie pageant, a human vs. zombie tag game, zombie art shows, live bands and more. A lot of the fun's for the big kids, but your undead tykes can play as well – kids in zombie costume will even get treat bags. Saturday; Audubon Park Garden District, East Winter Park Road and Corrine Drive; free, visit website for details; apgardens.com.
