Director of Marketing and Events

Euclid Media Group is looking for a highly experienced, exceedingly skilled, and decidedly fun candidate to fill our Director of Marketing and Events position with Orlando Weekly
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Manage, create, and execute a portfolio of Best in Market, World-Class Orlando cultural events, including 5 already established annual events.
  • Maintain, develop, and grow strategic partnerships with local and national businesses.
  • Ensure execution and follow up on all marketing and promotional partnerships.
  • Plan, develop, and implement all marketing strategies for Euclid Media Group’s Orlando media properties
  • Ensure all articulation and communication of Orlando Weekly to all constituencies, both internal and external, is consistent with our desired image and position.
  • Oversee marketing revenue and expense budget.
  • Bring creative, fresh, and innovative ideas to the table.
  • Oversee promotions managers and events team.
  • Plan, manage, and execute advertising campaigns with our media partners.
  • Oversee public relations / press releases.
  • Management of social media platforms, including working with the web editor to continue to expand our social media reach and engagement.
  • Assist with sales, sponsorship proposals, and recaps.
  • Create and facilitate marketing intern program.
  • Oversee event sponsorships and third party sponsorships.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • A preferred minimum of 7 years event management and marketing experience.
  • Experience creating and executing large scale events.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell sponsorships and build long-term relationships.
  • Strong media track record with proven success in creating sales presentations and developing long-term relationships with clients.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing, supervising, and appraising personnel.
  • High energy and drive to be the best in the industry!
  • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.

Promotions Management:
On and off-campus events (nightlife, sporting, etc.)
Attend, market & take photos and/or video at events
Increase awareness and positive perception of OW Magazine at on campus through promotions
Identify and cultivate highly visible promotional tie-ins on campus
Market Orlando Weekly and our events via social media & event marketing
Grow social media awareness & web interaction among students

Relationship Development:
Build a network of campus relationships to support current and future marketing activities for implementation by OW Magazine.


Magazine Distribution Management:
Acquire, maintain & grow number of effective drop-off locations on and around campus
Weekly distribution of magazine on and around campus

  • Works independently
  • Is very familiar with our publication, websites and culture

  • Cultivate prospects, make high number of daily calls, sell print, digital and event advertising
  • Service ongoing needs of our clients

We offer an excellent compensation plan (salary plus commission), with no earning caps. The more successful you are, the more you'll earn. Benefits package includes 401K, medical, life and dental.

Orlando Weekly is currently looking for an intern who can create print advertising for Orlando Weekly, BITE, and Annual Manual as well as work on in-house collateral.
