Dog days of Christmas

A wish list for my canine companions

Photo: N/A, License: N/A

Paco Collars would look fabulous on my boys this Christmas

But enough about the dogs – what about me? My most significant dog-related wish-list item is not exactly tangible (and not likely to be realized any time soon, unfortunately), but that doesn’t make it any less worthy of inclusion on the list: Mostly, I’d just like for idiots to stop owning pit bulls. I’m tired of seeing headlines in the news about pit bulls that get into trouble; the social and legal backlash makes it harder for those of us whose dogs are good canine citizens to go about our business and live our lives in peace.

Barring that, I’d love a spot at the upcoming Patricia McConnell and Kathy Sdao seminar on dog training and communication, taking place in Orlando Jan. 7-8, 2012 (“Tuning Into Your Dog,” International Palms Resort and Conference Center, $255), which would help me complete my morph from average person with average interests into someone who really does have too much time on their hands to think about dogs.

Or, you could get me some therapy sessions. I have insurance, so all you’d have to do is cover my copay. It’s only $20. My family would thank you.
